1. About the role

We are seeking an adaptable and proactive Freelance Site Assistant for a fixed-term position based in Abu Dhabi from October to December 2026, with exact dates to be confirmed.

The Site Assistant will provide day-to-day operational support to the Site Management and Event Operations teams during the build-up, live event, and breakdown phases of a large-scale event.

The role will assist with the coordination of site activities, contractors, suppliers, deliveries, site access, equipment, facilities, and general site requirements, ensuring that operations run smoothly, safely, and according to the event schedule.


The Site Assistant will work closely with Site Managers, Production, Operations, Security, Logistics, Facilities, Contractors, and Suppliers.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Management team with day-to-day site operations.
  • Assist with the coordination of contractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Support site preparations during build-up, event days, and breakdown.
  • Assist with managing deliveries, collections, loading/unloading, and site logistics.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier activities and report any issues to the Site Manager.
  • Conduct regular site checks and report maintenance, safety, access, or operational issues.
  • Assist with site access and ensure contractors and suppliers are directed to the correct areas.
  • Support the management of site facilities, offices, cabins, storage areas, and operational spaces.
  • Assist with the setup, movement, and positioning of equipment, furniture, signage, barriers, and other site requirements.
  • Maintain daily site logs, checklists, delivery records, and operational documentation.
  • Support communication between site teams, production teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Assist with responding to urgent site requests and operational issues.
  • Ensure site areas remain organised, clean, accessible, and operational.
  • Support health and safety procedures and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with site inductions and briefings where required.
  • Support the Site Manager with daily coordination meetings and updates.
  • Carry out other reasonable site and operational duties as required by the Site Management team.

3. Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in event operations, site operations, production, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale events, sporting events, festivals, exhibitions, concerts, or major productions.
  • Practical experience working in a busy event site environment.
  • Good understanding of event build-up, live event, and breakdown operations.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and multiple internal departments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Basic knowledge of site health and safety requirements.
  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic site reporting/documentation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended shifts during event periods.
  • Physically able to work in an active outdoor/site environment for extended periods.
  • Fluent English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in the UAE, GCC, or international major events is an advantage.
  • A valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.

Where are Evolution's offices and facilities located?
